Meet Your Fairy

Hi, I'm Beth.

Mum of three, part of a household of six, owner of two dogs, keeper of a never-ending to-do list and defender against a laundry pile I affectionately call Mount Washmore.

Like so many of the families I support, my days are a whirlwind of school runs, packed lunches, appointments, work, washing, dishes and trying to remember where I put the library books this time.

I'm not someone who has it all together. I'm someone who understands real life.

The rushed mornings. The forgotten PE kits. The dishwasher that somehow needs emptying again.

The feeling of always being one step behind, no matter how hard you're trying.

Alongside raising my family, I've spent years working in care and support roles, helping people through some of life's most challenging moments.

One thing I've learned is that people don't always need grand gestures. Sometimes they simply need a helping hand, a little support and one less thing to worry about.

That's exactly what The Fairy Next Door is here to be.

Not because I believe homes should be perfect.

But because I believe people deserve support.

You're already doing your best.

Let me help with the rest.

Love Beth,

Founder, The Fairy Next Door

Why I started The Fairy Next Door…

I can't tell you how many times I've walked back into the house after the school run and thought:

"If only I didn't have all this catch-up to do before I can start my day."

Or spent the day at work knowing that when I got home from pick-up, the dishes, the laundry, the toys

and the never-ending list of little jobs would all still be waiting there for me.

More than once, I've caught myself thinking:

"I just wish someone would run behind me picking things up as I go."

And don't even get me started on the guilt.

The rushed school mornings because I forgot to pack the bags the night before.

Throwing together packed lunches while trying to find matching socks.

Realising the library books are still sitting on the side.

Feeling like I'm constantly playing catch-up, no matter how hard I'm trying.

I remember thinking:

"I wish I had a house fairy."

Someone who could quietly come in and reset things.

Someone who could switch the washing over. Unload the dishwasher. Fold the laundry.

Do the little jobs that somehow take up so much space in your head.

And then I realised... Maybe it's not just me.

Maybe there are lots of parents carrying the same invisible mental load.

Maybe there are lots of families trying their absolute best whilst feeling permanently one step behind.

Maybe there are lots of people who don't need a cleaner. They simply need an extra pair of hands.

Because the truth is, we were never supposed to do this by ourselves.

Humans have always lived in communities, relied on neighbours, shared the load and helped one another through busy seasons of life. The Fairy Next Door was created to be a little piece of that village.

Not to create perfect homes. Not to create show homes. But to help make everyday life feel a little lighter. Because sometimes the greatest luxury isn't spotless floors or folded laundry.

It's opening the front door and realising there's a little less waiting for you on the other side. So if life feels a little overwhelming right now...

Let me be the village.
